Children's Bible Quizzing Welcome

Welcome to Children's Bible Quizzing 2009-2010. We are anticipating an awesome year in children's Bible Quizzing as we diligently study Joshua, Judges, and Ruth. I Bible Quizzed as a teen in the Free Methodist Denomination in the Wabash Conference for the North Anderson Free Methodist Church in Anderson, Indiana from 1983 to 1987. It was probably the most exciting 5 years of my life. I am very competitive by nature, and being able to compete in Bible Quizzing for the honor and glory of Christ was an absolute thrill!!! We quizzed in our conference monthly, as well as traveling to regional and national tournaments every year.
When Marilyn asked me if I would be interested in being the children's quizzing coach this year, I had to think and pray about it because I didn't want my competitive juices to be a detriment. I have to remind myself from time to time that winning is not so important! We began our practices on Sunday August 30. We have 13 quizzers signed on. 4 Red level and 9 Blue level. The red quizzers are Brooklyn Lamar, Ana and Nick Taylor, and Abby Burns. The blue quizzers are Carter and Kasey Brown, Laura Clark, Anthony Clark, Joy Herbkersman, Cheyenne Trieschman, Jacob Foulk, Georgia Coffman, and Jordan Mantor. Parents, please study at home with your young Bible Quizzers. The results will be great. The one hour per week we have together as a group is not nearly enough. I recommend about one half hour per day practice at home reading and reviewing questions and memory verses with an occasional day off to avoid burn out. Then as the quiz meet approaches, increase time from 30 to 40 minutes per day reviewing. If you have any questions about this, please call me at 529-7522 or email to
